The Municipality of Brockton’s phone line communication issue from April 29, 2026 has been resolved and our phone lines are operational again. Thank you for your patience.

The Municipality of Brockton is experiencing a communication issue with our phone line system and incoming calls are not being received at our office. We apologize for this inconvenience. Individuals can continue to email staff or visit the Municipal Office in-person until this matter is resolved.

Bruce County residents are invited to attend a Candidates’ Information Night for those considering running for Municipal Council in the 2026 municipal and school board election, to be held on October 26, 2026. Before making a decision to run for office, this practical workshop is designed to provide participants with a clear and realistic understanding of what serving as an elected official involves. The Greenock Transfer Station (Landfill) is closed on Saturday, April 18, 2026. 

The Brant Landfill remains open for residents.

The Municipal Office, Community Services (Parks and Recreation) Administrative Office, and Brockton Child Care Centre are closed for Easter on Friday, April 3rd and Monday, April 6th, 2026. Our offices reopen on Tuesday, April 7th, 2026. Staff and Council wish you a safe and happy holiday weekend!

As part of the ongoing maintenance of the Walkerton Water System, Veolia Water will be flushing the Walkerton distribution system throughout April and May. This is estimated to take approximately 1 ½ months to complete. Residents are asked to run a cold water tap after the flushing has been completed in their area to discharge any discoloured water before use. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. The Municipality of Brockton continues to work closely with Bruce County, Provincial agencies, and Conservation partners in response to a unique flooding situation in Pinkerton. Based on a preliminary analysis, recent snowmelt and rainfall caused a 100-year flood event on the lower reaches of the Teeswater River near Pinkerton. During this event, a breach in the privately-owned Pinkerton dam led to flooding of homes and across Bruce County Rd 15. Open the News Post to read the full update.
