Bruce County Progress Update for Durham Street Bridge Walkerton

As of July 9, 2026, Phase 2 of the Durham Street Bridge Rehabilitation continues in Walkerton.

From 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, there will be alternating, single-lane traffic with traffic control in place.

From 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., the bridge will have both lanes open for two-way traffic.

Bruce County anticipates completion of bridge surface work by the end of July 2026. Work beneath the bridge for pier rehabilitation will continue through August.

One sidewalk will remain closed until project completion. This is for the safety of pedestrians and the construction team. Please use the open sidewalk to cross the bridge during this time.

Weight restrictions will also remain in place until project completion, along with the alternative route.
