SVCA Provides Flood Warning Update for Brockton - March 13-16, 2026
Saugeen Conservation has provided an update on the Flood Warning in Brockton. The Teeswater River is flooding in Pinkerton, and erosion has been observed along Bruce County Road 15, which may lead to road damage. Water levels remain high and flooding could continue for an extended period. Residents in Pinkerton should closely monitor conditions and follow direction from municipal and county staff and emergency services. If you are in danger due to flooding, call 911. The Flood Warning for Silver Creek remains in effect, though conditions there are beginning to improve. A Flood Watch remains in effect for the rest of the Saugeen watershed. Saugeen Conservation Flood Warning - March 12-13, 2026
Saugeen Conservation has extended their Flood Warning for the Municipality of Brockton due to continued flooding along Silver Creek. High water levels in the Saugeen River are preventing Silver Creek from draining properly. While conditions are not expected to worsen, water levels may remain elevated until flows in the Saugeen River decrease. Residents along Silver Creek should continue to monitor conditions and remain prepared for possible flooding. Stream and river flows remain strong and hazardous, and riverbanks may be unstable. Service Disruption: Walkerton Parks and Ball Diamonds Closed Due to Flooding
Centennial Park, Lobies Park, and the Walkerton Kinsmen Tot Lot Park, and Walkerton Ball Diamonds are all closed due to flooding. Low lying areas of trails may also be flooded out due to high water levels along the Saugeen River and Silver Creek and ongoing rainfall. Please avoid these areas as they pose a safety risk.

Saugeen Conservation Flood Warning - March 11-12, 2026
Saugeen Conservation has issued a Flood Warning for Brockton due to flooding along Silver Creek. Heavy rainfall (30–45 mm) overnight caused the creek to overflow, with more rain (10–15 mm) expected today. Debris at road crossings may worsen conditions. Localized flooding is also reported along the Saugeen River at Lobies Park. Please use caution near waterways. Flows are strong and banks may be unstable. Bruce County Media Release: Upcoming Lane Closure on Durham Street Bridge in Walkerton
Bruce County, Ontario: Phase 2 of the Durham Street bridge rehabilitation project will resume on Monday, March 9, 2026. Initially, motorists can expect intermittent lane closures on the bridge, with traffic control measures in place. Within the month, the bridge will transition to alternating traffic with a single-lane closure managed by temporary traffic lights and additional traffic control measures. Walkerton Snow Removal - Wednesday February 18

Snow Clearing Tonight 

Municipal staff will be clearing excess snow from streets in Walkerton tonight on Wednesday, February 18, starting at 1:00 a.m. Please ensure all vehicles are off the roads to assist with snow clearing. Any vehicle obstructing the removal of snow will be towed at the owner’s expense.
A reminder that Winter Parking Provisions remain in effect - no person may park on a highway between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. during the months of November to April. -

Press Release - Municipality of Brockton Announces Deputy Chief Glen Wilhelm’s Retirement and Transition to Deputy Chief Emeritus
The Municipality of Brockton is pleased to recognize the outstanding contributions and long-standing service of Deputy Chief Glen Wilhelm of the Walkerton Fire Department, who will be retiring from his role as Deputy Chief effective July 1, 2026. Media Release - Municipality of Brockton Updates Community Improvement Plan to Support Housing and Community Growth
The Municipality of Brockton has completed an update to its Community Improvement Plan (CIP) to introduce new and enhanced financial incentives that support the development of multi-unit and affordable housing on eligible properties across the municipality.
