The Municipality of Brockton is pleased to recognize the outstanding contributions and long-standing service of Deputy Chief Glen Wilhelm of the Walkerton Fire Department, who will be retiring from his role as Deputy Chief effective July 1, 2026. Media Release - Municipality of Brockton Updates Community Improvement Plan to Support Housing and Community Growth
The Municipality of Brockton has completed an update to its Community Improvement Plan (CIP) to introduce new and enhanced financial incentives that support the development of multi-unit and affordable housing on eligible properties across the municipality. The Corporation of the Municipality of Brockton is seeking Requests for Expressions of Interest (‘REOI”) from qualified developers for the development of a residential subdivision composed of 51 housing units referred to as "the Eastridge Subdivision". The Municipality invites proposals that can help realize the potential for the Eastridge Subdivision as a new development for “missing middle” housing units, developing the Eastridge Subdivision into a vibrant, sustainable, and design-forward neighbourhood that responds to the community’s housing and growth needs. Walkerton Snow Removal - Wednesday January 28
Snow Clearing Tonight 

Municipal staff will be clearing excess snow from streets in Walkerton tonight on Wednesday January 28 starting at 1:00 a.m. Please ensure all vehicles are off the roads to assist with snow clearing. Any vehicle obstructing the removal of snow will be towed at the owner’s expense.
A reminder that Winter Parking Provisions remain in effect - no person may park on a highway between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. during the months of November to April. -

Significant Weather Event Ended - January 26, 2026
As of 9:30 a.m. this morning (Monday, January 26, 2026), the Municipality of Brockton has ended the Significant Weather Event. Caution should still be observed as regular maintenance activities are still occurring to return the roadway and sidewalk conditions to a state of repair.

The Greenock Transfer Station (Landfill) is closed today, Saturday, January 24, 2026, due to weather conditions. The Brant Landfill remains open for residents.
