Municipal Offices Closed for Labour Day 2025The Municipal Office, Community Services (Parks and Recreation) Administration Office, and Brockton Child Care Centre will be closed on Monday, September 1, 2025 for Labour Day. Our offices reopens on Tuesday, September 2, 2025.Looking for something to do this long weekend? Join us in celebrating Music on the Porch Day on Saturday, August 30th from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Market Garden park in Walkerton (312 Durham Street)!

Partial Open Air Burn Ban Lifted - August 20, 2025
The Chief Fire Official for Brockton has lifted the partial open air burn ban as of 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 20, 2025. The partial burn ban was issued on August 11, 2025 due to recent extreme temperatures and a lack of rainfall.
Agricultural, brush, and derelict building burn permits can now resume. Recreational fires (for cooking and warmth) can also continue, in compliance with Brockton’s Open Air Burn By-Law 2017-034.

Notice of High Water Consumption
Due to increased water usage, the Municipality of Brockton is reminding residents of By-Law 2005-23: Being a By-Law to Restrict the Use of Municipal Water Supply By Limiting The Times Permitted to Water Gardens or Lawns.
Watering Schedule:
- Even-numbered civic addresses: Permitted to water on even-numbered calendar days between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. and between 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
- Odd-numbered civic addresses: Permitted to water on odd-numbered calendar days between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. and between 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
- Automatic watering systems: May operate any day, but only between 2:30 a.m. and 6:00 a.m.
Residents are also asked to be mindful of their overall daily water consumption to help conserve water supply and reduce the strain on the municipal system.

Chief Fire Official Issues Partial Open Air Burn Ban - August 11, 2025
The Chief Fire Official for the Municipality of Brockton has issued a partial ban on open air fires (agricultural, brush, and derelict buildings) until further notice due to recent extreme temperatures and a lack of rainfall. This partial ban takes effect immediately, and agricultural, brush, and derelict building burn permits are suspended until further notice.
Recreational fires (for cooking and warmth) are still permitted to continue, in compliance with Brockton’s Open Air Burn By-Law 2017-034.

The Municipal Office, Brockton Child Care Centre, and Community Services Department (Parks and Recreation) Administration Office will be closed on Monday, August 4, 2025 for Civic Holiday. Our offices will reopen on Tuesday, August 5, 2025. Council and staff wish you a safe and happy long weekend!
