The Brockton Child Care Centre, and Community Services (Parks and Recreation) Administration Office, Municipal Office and the Brant Landfill will be closed on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 for Canada Day. Our offices reopen on Thursday, July 2, 2026 and the Brant Landfill will reopen on Saturday, July 4, 2026. We invite you to join in the variety of celebrations happening at Centennial Park in Walkerton from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. including inflatables and activities, foam party, free swim, BBQ and cake, live music and more! The Municipality of Brockton will be implementing a single-source organics (Green Bin) program this Fall. As part of the 2026 Budget, the Municipality will be providing Green Bins at no cost to residents of Walkerton that currently receive curbside collection. Walkerton residents are invited to voluntarily register to receive a green bin at no cost by completing the Green Bin Registration Form. Read the News Post for more information

The Municipality of Brockton is fortunate to have so many dedicated individuals who generously donate their time and talents. Brockton prides itself on our caring and welcoming nature, which is embodied by all of our volunteers. The Municipality hosted our Volunteer Recognition Event on Thursday, June 11, 2026 at the Walkerton Community Centre to celebrate our Committees, Local Boards, and Service Clubs who are a valuable asset to the Municipality. Please take notice that there will be a full bridge closure on Durham Street Bridge in Walkerton beginning at 10 p.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2026. and reopening at approximately 4 a.m. on Friday, June 12, 2026.
