The Brant Landfill and the Greenock Transfer Station are both closed today, Saturday, January 4, 2025 due to the weather conditions. Thank you for your cooperation.

The Brant Landfill will be closed on December 25, 2024 and January 1, 2025. The Brant Landfill and Greenock Transfer Station will both remain open on December 28, 2024. 

The Municipal Office, Community Services (Parks and Recreation) Administration Office, and Brockton Child Care Centre will be closed at 1:00 p.m. on December 24, 2024 until January 1, 2025. All Offices reopen on January 2, 2025. Staff and Council wish you a happy holiday season!

Due to Christmas Day and New Years Day falling on a Wednesday, residents in Walkerton East (East of Yonge Street) will have their garbage collected this Monday, December 23, 2024 instead of December 25th and on Monday, December 30, 2024 instead of January 1st.

Municipal staff will be clearing excess snow from streets in Walkerton on Thursday, December 19, 2024 starting at 1:00 a.m. Please ensure all vehicles are off the roads to assist with snow clearing. Any vehicle obstructing the removal of snow will be towed at the owner’s expense. Read our News Post for more information.

As of 1:30 p.m. on December 13, 2024 the Municipality of Brockton has ended the Significant Weather Event. Caution should still be observed as regular maintenance activities are still occurring to return the roadway and sidewalk conditions to a state of repair.

Due to inclement weather and our local advisory, the Walkerton Community Centre, located at 290 Durham Street West, Walkerton will be closed at 4:00 p.m. and for the remainder of today (December 12, 2024). Stay warm and safe, and we look forward to seeing you soon!

Due to the ongoing Canada Postal Strike, the Municipality will not be mailing Utility (Water and Sewer) Bills to residents. Utility Bill payments are due December 31, 2024.  The Municipality of Brockton encourages residents to contact the Municipality of Brockton prior to December 24, 2024 to pick up and/or obtain your Utility Bill amounts.
