Green Bins
The Municipality of Brockton will be implementing a single-source organics (Green Bin) program this Fall. We’re proud to be first in Bruce County to introduce this program—helping keep food waste out of landfills and turning it into renewable resources:
✅ 45L Green Bin provided
✅ Food scraps and organic materials accepted
✅ Certified biodegradable bags/liners required and will be available at participating businesses
As part of the 2026 Budget, the Municipality will be providing Green Bins at no cost to residents of Walkerton that currently receive curbside garbage collection.
Walkerton residents are invited to voluntarily register to receive a green bin at no cost.
Registration will remain open until August 28, 2026. Registrations received after this date may have a delay in bin delivery.
Green Bins will be delivered to Walkerton residents in advance of the first scheduled collection date which is anticipated in September 2026.
