Waste Management and Recycling
The Municipality manages three landfills in Brockton:
- Brant Landfill - 57 Concession 8, Elmwood
- Greenock Landfill - 564 Concession 10, Chepstow
- Walkerton/Hanover Landfill - 868 Bruce Rd 4, Walkerton
Garbage is picked up weekly, according to your area of residence.
We also have a number of recycling programs in Brockton; our Recycling Depot is located at 320 Kincardine Highway, Walkerton.

Water and Sewer
The town of Walkerton relies on ground water supplies for its potable water. The municipal water system is managed by Veolia Water Canada Inc. Water lines are metered in the town as a conservation measure.

Electricity
Brockton residents are serviced by both Hydro One Networks in the rural area and Westario Power in the town of Walkerton. Like many other communities across Ontario, new electricity prices have been transitioned to Time-of-Use (TOU) pricing as an energy conservation measure.

Natural Gas

Mobility services, local/international telephone, internet, cable, and satellite services are available from a wide variety of companies.

Transportation Infrastructure and Access
The Walkerton area is well served by a provincial highway (Hwy 9) and county roads. These regional roads link the town of Walkerton and surrounding rural areas to the larger urban centres of London, Kitchener-Waterloo, Guelph, Hamilton and the Greater Toronto Area.
