Notice of Public Information Session - Comprehensive Zoning By-Law and Official Plan Review

The Municipality of Brockton is undertaking a review and update of its Walkerton Official Plan and Brockton Comprehensive Zoning By-Law. These documents will direct how land will be used in your community and what will be protected. This review will address changes to provincial legislation, ensure the documents conform to the Bruce County Official Plan and consider local planning issues that impact your community such as housing, the location of growth, servicing and the natural environment.

The Municipality and its consultant, J.L. Richards and Associates Limited, will present the preliminary research findings and directions from the background research and feedback gathered to date at the upcoming Council Meeting on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. at the Bruce County Council Chambers (30 Park Street, Walkerton). Members of the Public are invited to attend to in-person or virtually view the presentation. Visit our Current Council Meeting Agenda webpage to learn more about how to access the meeting virtually.

A Public Information Session will be held in-person on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Walkerton Community Centre (290 Durham St. W, Walkerton) to introduce the project, present the preliminary findings of the background review and directions, and allow residents to ask questions about the project’s next steps and provide input.
