The Council of the Municipality of Brockton met on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. for Special Council Meeting to consider the candidates that applied for the Councillor Vacancy. Due to weather conditions and road closures, the meeting occurred electronically on Zoom Video Conferencing and livestreamed to the Municipality of Brockton's Agenda Management Software, eScribe. Council will hold a Special Council Meeting to consider the Candidates who applied for the Council Vacancy, to fill the vacant Councillor seat for the remainder of the 2026 Council Term. Council will hear from the Candidates, and vote to appoint one individual as the new Councillor. This meeting will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. electronically on Zoom Video Conferencing and livestreamed to the Municipality's Agenda Management Software, eSCRIBE. As of 3:00 p.m. on January 21, 2026 the Municipality of Brockton has ended the Significant Weather Event. Caution should still be observed as regular maintenance activities are still occurring to return the roadway and sidewalk conditions to a state of repair.

The Brant Landfill is closed today, Wednesday, January 21, 2026, due to weather conditions. The Municipality appreciates your understanding.

As of 8:00 a.m. on January 20, 2026, the Municipality of Brockton has declared a Significant Weather Event in accordance with Ontario Regulation 366/18. All roads and sidewalks maintained by the Municipality will be in a "state of repair" until further notice. This declaration is not a notice of closed roads and the Municipality of Brockton remains diligent in providing continued winter maintenance to ensure public safety. Drivers and pedestrians are encouraged to use an appropriate level of caution when travelling during this event.
