Reminder: 2026 Volunteer Recognition Award Nominations Due

The Municipality of Brockton appreciates the dedication of all of our volunteers, including members of Committees, Boards, and Service Clubs! We encourage you to submit a nomination for community members and outstanding youth that you feel should be recognized for their efforts!

Nominations are closing soon for the 2026 Brockton Good Neighbour Award and the 2026 Walkerton & District Optimist Club's Outstanding Youth Award!

Brockton Good Neighbour Award

Nominees for this award should be someone who has taken the initiative to do spontaneous or unheralded deeds, rather than participation in group activities such as those with community groups or associations that result in Brockton being a more enjoyable community to live in. Activities must embody a strong sense of values, promote the positive impact of good neighbourly deeds and have contributed to the vitality and fabric of our community. 

Outstanding Youth Award

Do you know a youth that is committed to your community and improving the world around you?  If you believe that you know of a Brockton student that is between the ages of 12 – 17 years old, then please let us know!

The Walkerton and District Optimist Club is looking for youths in the Brockton area that:

• Demonstrates youth leadership opportunities through taking charge and becoming a strong leader at school, in the community and setting up for their future career.
• Makes a difference with hands-on projects that give back to the community.
• Does your youth demonstrate the skills of volunteering their time and providing an environment of inclusion of all people?
• Go the extra mile to make things better

The awards will be presented at the Municipality's Volunteer Recognition Event on June 11, 2026 at the Walkerton Community Centre from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
