Press Release - Hammond Power Solutions Donates $5,000 and The Rotary Club of Walkerton Donates $2,500 Towards Centennial Park Pool Diving Board Project
Brockton, Ontario (May 5, 2025) - The Municipality of Brockton is pleased to announce a generous $5,000 donation from Hammond Power Solutions and a $2,500 donation from the Rotary Club of Walkerton in support of the Centennial Park Pool Diving Board Project. These contributions mark a significant step forward in bringing back a much-loved feature to Brockton’s community pool.
The previous diving boards at Centennial Park Pool in Walkerton were removed during the COVID-19 pandemic due to aging infrastructure that had reached the end of its safe lifespan. Since their removal, there has been strong public interest in adding a new and exciting feature to the pool to enhance the experience for swimmers of all ages.
Recognizing the community's desire to reinstate this popular feature, the Municipality of Brockton has launched a fundraising initiative to purchase a brand-new diving board. After receiving multiple quotes from commercial aquatic suppliers, the total cost for the new diving board—including the stand, delivery, and installation—has been determined to be $34,883.66. To achieve this, the Municipality aims to raise $17,441.83 through local community efforts.
“The support from the Rotary Club of Walkerton and Hammond Power Solutions is deeply appreciated,” said Lisa Fagan, Recreation Programming Supervisor with the Municipality of Brockton. “These donations bring us one step closer to restoring a key element of fun and recreation to Centennial Park Pool. We are incredibly grateful for the Rotary Club’s ongoing commitment to our community, as well as for the unwavering support and dedication from Hammond Power Solutions.”
The Municipality continues to call upon local organizations and residents to support this initiative. Every donation, big or small, plays a pivotal role in realizing this project and enhancing the summer experience for all ages at Centennial Park Pool.
