Apply to Serve as a Brockton Councillor

The Municipality currently has a vacancy for one (1) Councillor. Council will appoint a new individual to fill this Councillor seat in January in accordance with our Council Vacancy Replacement Procedure Policy. The appointed individual will serve as Councillor from the date of their appointment (mid-January) until the end of the current Council Term (November 14, 2026).

Applications are open to fill the vacant Brockton Councillor seat until January 6, 2026 at 2:00 p.m.

In mid-January, Council will hold a Special Council Meeting to consider Candidate applications, and appoint one individual to serve as Councillor for the remainder of the 2026 Council Term.

Bruce County Notice: Motorists Advised to Reconsider Travel Plans

In anticipation of worsening weather conditions across the region on Monday, January 27, 2025, Bruce County Transportation & Environmental Services is advising motorists to reconsider travel plans and to stay off the roadways if there is no need to travel.

High winds and blowing snow are creating significant drifts, low visibility, and slippery roads.

Roadways are becoming impassable, some road closures have been put in place, and motor vehicle collisions and abandoned vehicles are being reported. Weather conditions are expected to worsen through the evening.
