Thermal Expansion |
If you are on a Brockton municipal water system, you may experience water releasing from the T&P (temperature and pressure) relief valve on your hot water tank. This can be caused by either high water temperature or high water pressure. The Municipality of Brockton has a program to provide some assistance with this problem. The criteria for this program is outlined in By-Law 2015-043 - Amendment to By-Law 2011-08:
The Municipality will only cover the initial cost for a PH5 Thermal expansion tank up to $50. Any subsequent replacements, or repairs, to the initial Thermal Expansion Tank will be at the expense of the owner. Any replacement, or repairs, to the Pressure Reducing Valves installed by the Municipality during the initial installation of water meters, is to be at the expense of the owner. |
