What is a Municipal Drain?
A Municipal Drain is simply a drainage system. Most municipal drains are either ditches or closed systems such as pipes or tiles buried in the ground. Property owners will be assessed for the portion of the drain that affects their property. Stephen Cobean of Cobide Engineering is the Municipal Drainage Superintendent.
Under the Drainage Act, the Municipality is responsible for maintaining municipal drains. If the Municipal drain is affecting your lands and requires maintenance, please call the Municipal Office.
