Pinkerton Flooding
Extensive flooding is occurring in Pinkerton due to a breach of a privately owned dyke. The Municipality of Brockton is continuing to coordinate with external agencies, including the County of Bruce, Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority, Ministry of Natural Resources and has initiated discussions with Brockton’s Emergency Operations Control Group. The Municipality in coordination with these external agencies are providing enhanced monitoring of the affected properties in Pinkerton.
Emergency Response crews have attended the affected area conducting sandbagging efforts to minimize further damage to certain properties in Pinkerton. Municipal crews continue to conduct daily site inspections, ongoing monitoring, and maintain regular communications with the affected residents.
At this time, a State of Emergency has not been declared. The safety and well-being of residents remain the Municipality’s highest priority.
Due to elevated water levels and limited access to the site, repairs will take time.
Residents are strongly advised to avoid the area and refrain from accessing closed roads as roadways may be compromised.
The Municipality will continue to provide updates as the situation evolves.
