Significant Weather Event Declared - December 30, 2025

As of 9:30 a.m. on December 30, 2025, the Municipality of Brockton has declared a Significant Weather Event in accordance with Ontario Regulation 366/18. All roads and sidewalks maintained by the Municipality will be in a "state of repair" until further notice. This declaration is not a notice of closed roads and the Municipality of Brockton remains diligent in providing continued winter maintenance to ensure public safety. Drivers and pedestrians are encouraged to use an appropriate level of caution when travelling during this event.

Apply to Serve as a Brockton Councillor

The Municipality currently has a vacancy for one (1) Councillor. Council will appoint a new individual to fill this Councillor seat in January in accordance with our Council Vacancy Replacement Procedure Policy. The appointed individual will serve as Councillor from the date of their appointment (mid-January) until the end of the current Council Term (November 14, 2026).

Applications are open to fill the vacant Brockton Councillor seat until January 6, 2026 at 2:00 p.m.

In mid-January, Council will hold a Special Council Meeting to consider Candidate applications, and appoint one individual to serve as Councillor for the remainder of the 2026 Council Term.

Walkerton Snow Removal - December 4 and 5, 2024

Municipal staff will be clearing excess snow from streets in Walkerton on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, and Thursday, December 5, 2024 starting at 12:30 a.m. Please ensure all vehicles are off the roads to assist with snow clearing. Any vehicle obstructing the removal of snow will be towed at the owner’s expense.

In accordance with our Traffic and Parking By-Law, winter parking provisions are currently in effect: No person may park on a highway between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. during the months of November to April.
