Press Release - Cargill and District Community Foundation Donates $2,000 Towards Centennial Park Pool Diving Board Project
Brockton, ON – May 29, 2025 – The Municipality of Brockton is excited to share that the Cargill and District Community Foundation has made a generous $2,000 donation to support the Diving Board Project. This meaningful contribution brings us one step closer to restoring a cherished feature at Brockton’s community pool.
The previous diving boards at Centennial Park Pool were removed during the COVID-19 pandemic following a report that identified them as being at the end of their lifespan. Since their removal, there has been strong public interest in adding a new and exciting feature to the pool to enhance the experience for swimmers of all ages.
In response, the Municipality of Brockton has launched a fundraising initiative to purchase a brand-new diving board. After receiving multiple quotes from commercial aquatic suppliers, the total cost for the new diving board—including the stand, delivery, and installation—has been determined to be $34,883.66. The goal is to raise $17,441.83 through community donations to cover half of the project cost.
“We are truly grateful for the support from the Cargill and District Community Foundation”, said Lisa Fagan, Recreation Programming Supervisor. "Each donation moves us closer to this new addition the community has been asking for. We deeply appreciate CDCF’s continued commitment to our community and contributions of support.”
The Municipality continues to reach out to local organizations and residents for support. Every donation, big or small, contributes to making this project a reality and bringing more excitement and enjoyment to the summer pool season.
