Pinkerton Flooding Update March 14, 2026
Extensive flooding is occurring in Pinkerton due to a breach of a privately owned dyke. The Municipality of Brockton is continuing to coordinate with external agencies, including the County of Bruce, Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority, Ministry of Natural Resources and has initiated discussions with Brockton’s Emergency Operations Control Group. The Municipality in coordination with these external agencies are providing enhanced monitoring of the affected properties in Pinkerton.
At this time, it is not expected that flooding in Pinkerton will impact surrounding hamlets or communities.
Residents are strongly advised to avoid the area and refrain from accessing closed roads as roadways may be compromised.
Emergency Response crews will be attending the affected area this afternoon (Saturday, March 14, 2026) to conduct sandbagging efforts to minimize further damage to certain properties in Pinkerton.
Mayor Chris Peabody expressed his compassion for residents, “I have reached out to residents in Pinkerton expressing my concerns for them in this distressing time. I am grateful for the support of various agencies in coordinating a timely response.”
Fire Chief and Director of Fire and Emergency Services, Chris Wells extended his appreciation, “The Municipality is fortunate to be able to rely on the cooperation of many partners including the Town of Hanover Fire Department, County of Bruce, Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority and the Ministry of Natural Resources to assist us with response efforts.”
