Municipal Offices Holiday Closures

The Municipal Office and Brockton Child Care Centre will be closed for the holidays at 1:00 p.m. on December 24, 2025 until January 1, 2026. The Community Services (Parks and Recreation) Administration Office will be closed at 1:00 p.m. on December 24, 2025, and again on December 25th, December 26th, December 31st and January 1, 2026. All offices reopen on January 2, 2026. Council and staff wish you a safe and happy holiday season!

Ring in the new year at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 102, Walkerton (505 Scott Street) on January 1, 2026 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. for the New Year's Levee - an easygoing afternoon of good company, laughs, and stories from the past year as we kick off 2026 together!

Apply to Serve as a Brockton Councillor

The Municipality currently has a vacancy for one (1) Councillor. Council will appoint a new individual to fill this Councillor seat in January in accordance with our Council Vacancy Replacement Procedure Policy. The appointed individual will serve as Councillor from the date of their appointment (mid-January) until the end of the current Council Term (November 14, 2026).

Applications are open to fill the vacant Brockton Councillor seat until January 6, 2026 at 2:00 p.m.

In mid-January, Council will hold a Special Council Meeting to consider Candidate applications, and appoint one individual to serve as Councillor for the remainder of the 2026 Council Term.

The Walkerton Community Centre (Arena) is open for sponsored Public Skating on December 22nd, 23rd, 24th, 29th, 30th and 31st and January 2nd from 12:00 to 12:50 p.m. and the following Sundays: December 21st, 28th, and January 4th from 1:00 to 1:50 p.m.
