The Council of the Municipality of Brockton met on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. at the Bruce County Council Chambers (30 Park Street, Walkerton) and electronically on Zoom Video Conferencing and livestreamed to the Municipality of Brockton's Agenda Management Software, eSCRIBE. Council Meeting Highlights - May 27, 2025

  • The Walkerton Centennial Park Pavilion will be rebuilt and relocated closer to the parking lot, washrooms, and Splash Pad, with the option to repurpose the concrete pad at the former pavilion location.
  • The Municipality will submit an application to the Health and Safety Water Stream Infrastructure Grant for a future water tower replacement.
  • A Green Bin composting program will be offered to Walkerton residents through the new curbside collection contract, with expansion opportunities in the future.
  • A 1.63% reduction was made to the previously set tax rate of 4.17%, resulting in a total tax rate increase of 2.50% for 2025.

  • The next regular Council Meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. at the Bruce County Council Chambers (30 Park Street, Walkerton) and electronically on Zoom Video Conferencing and livestreamed to the Municipality of Brockton's Agenda Management Software, eSCRIBE.

Brockton Council meet the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at 7:00 p.m. unless otherwise indicated.
