Council Highlights - January 22, 2026

The Council of the Municipality of Brockton met on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. for Special Council Meeting to consider the candidates that applied for the Councillor Vacancy. Due to weather conditions and road closures, the meeting occurred electronically on Zoom Video Conferencing and livestreamed to the Municipality of Brockton's Agenda Management Software, eScribe. Council Meeting Highlights - January 22, 2026

• Six (6) Candidates applied for the Councillor Vacancy.
• The Municipality of Brockton thanks the following individuals for their willingness to apply for the position: Michael Crawford, Derrick Long, Charles Nuhn, Hayden Oberle, Katie Rice, and Cynthia Steadman.
• The Municipality is fortunate to have enthusiastic, and passionate individuals in our community, and hope they consider applying to run in the 2026 Election this October.
• Council appointed Michael Crawford to the position of Councillor for the remainder of the 2022-2026 Council Term (ending November 14, 2026). Michael Crawford swore the Oath of Office and was formally appointed by By-Law.
• The January 27, 2026 Council Meeting was cancelled. The next regular Council Meeting will be held February 10, 2026.

Upcoming Council Meetings

• As noted in the Council Highlights, the regular Council Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, January 27, 2026 has been cancelled.
• The next regular Council Meeting will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 in a hybrid format in-person at the Bruce County Council Chambers and electronically on Zoom and livestreamed to the Municipality of Brockton's Agenda Management Software, eScribe.

Brockton Council meet the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at 7:00 p.m. unless otherwise indicated.
