Bruce County Media Release: Upcoming Lane Closure on Durham Street Bridge in Walkerton

Bruce County, Ontario: Phase 2 of the Durham Street bridge rehabilitation project will resume on Monday, March 9, 2026. Initially, motorists can expect intermittent lane closures on the bridge, with traffic control measures in place.  

Within the month, the bridge will transition to alternating traffic with a single-lane closure managed by temporary traffic lights and additional traffic control measures. 

Please note: 

• Weight restrictions on the Durham Street Bridge remain in effect and Bruce County have posted alternative truck routes. 
• Bruce County anticipates completion of Phase 2 work in July 2026.
