Bruce County Media Release: Durham Street Bridge in Walkerton Temporarily Re-Opens
Bruce County, Ontario: The Durham Street Bridge on Bruce Road 4 in Walkerton will temporarily re-open to two-lane traffic on December 19, 2025. This temporary reopening is part of the project’s winter shutdown and is intended to improve traffic flow and support winter maintenance activities.
Please note:
- Weight restrictions on the Durham Street Bridge remain in effect and alternative truck routes are posted.
- Phase 2 of the bridge rehabilitation project will resume in late February or early March 2026, based on weather conditions, with alternating lane closures reinstated at that time.
- Completion of Phase 2 work is anticipated by early July 2026.
