Proposal to Amend Traffic and Parking By-Law to Relocate Accessible Parking Spaces at Walkerton Post Office
The Municipality of Brockton is seeking public comments on the proposal to amend the Traffic and Parking By-Law. in order to relocate accessible parking spaces along Scott Street, in front of the Walkerton Post Office. The current accessible parking space would be removed and relocated to allow for up to three (3) spaces designated for persons with disabilities, including a larger parking space to accommodate a van (for those persons using wheelchairs/scooters). These three (3) accessible parking spaces would be located in the middle of the sidewalk, where the curb slopes down to the road, which would allow persons with a disability to access the sloped sidewalk and have improved access to the front door of the Post Office.
Comments can be submitted to Clerk, Fiona Hamilton by email, or by mail to Municipality of Brockton 100 Scott Street, P.O. Box 68, Walkerton, ON N0G 2V0 until August 23, 2023 at Noon.
