Property Tax Sales Listing

The Municipal Act allows the Municipality to register a Tax Arrears Certificate on any property if taxes remain unpaid for two years prior to January 1^st of any year. These timelines apply to all classes of property. A tax arrears certificate indicates that the property will be sold if taxes, penalties, interest are not paid within one year of the certificate's registration.

If the Cancellation Price is not paid in full within one year of registration, the Municipality may advertise the property for sale in the local papers for four consecutive weeks and the Ontario Gazette for one week.
