The Municipality of Brockton provides the services of a Commissioner of Oaths during regular business hours. The Commissioner is able to witness signatures of certain documents.
Please note that we do not have a Notary Public on staff and do not notarize documents.
Commissioning Guidelines |
In order to have a document commissioned all parties required to sign the document must be present and must provide valid photo identification such as a driver's license or health card. The Commissioner will first review the document to determine if the document meets their approval. We reserve the right to refuse commissioning services of any document. If the paperwork is in order, all parties named in the document will then affirm or swear an oath of truth and the Commissioner will then stamp and seal the document. Please note that documents that are in any language other than English will not be commissioned, as we cannot validate the information that is affirmed. The fee for commissioning is $16.95. We strongly recommend you call the Municipal Office in advance to book an appointment. This will ensure there is a Commissioner of Oaths available when you come in for your commissioning. |
