The Integrated Accessibility Standards which include Information and Communications Standard, Employment Standard and the Transportation Standard came into effect on July 1, 2011.
Municipalities are required to have emergency procedures and plans produced in accessible formats and ensure that an employee with a disability has an individualized workplace emergency response plan. Websites must also be in compliance and meet specified content and requirements.

The Municipality of Brockton has adopted an Integrated Accessibility Standards Policy which addresses how Brockton achieves accessibility and provides overall strategic direction that we follow to provide accessibility support to Ontarians with Disabilities. This version of the policy includes requirements for the Design of Public Spaces. |
Accessible Information and Communications Policy |
The Municipality has an Accessible Information and Communications Policy to show that Brockton is committed to providing materials in an accessible format or with communication supports to persons with disabilities, upon request. |
Accessible Employment Policy |
The Municipality of Brockton adopted an Accessible Employment Policy to ensure that we provide equal employment opportunities for persons with disabilities and to meet the accessibility and accommodation needs of employees with a disability in a timely manner. The Municipality also has a Return to Work Procedure to assist employees. |
Taxi Cab Vehicle Registration |
In Brockton, taxi cabs must place vehicle registration information on the rear bumper, and ensure that no extra fees are charged for a person with a disability. |
