The history of elected officials in Brockton dates back more than 150 years with the incorporation of the Townships of Brant and Greenock in 1856 and the Town of Walkerton in 1871.
The Municipality of Brockton was incorporated in 1999 when the Townships of Brant and Greenock and the Town of Walkerton were amalgamated. The name Brockton was chosen as a combination of these names.
Chris Peabody was first elected as the Mayor of the Municipality of Brockton in 2018.
