2023 Volunteer Recognition Award Nominations Due Soon

To express our gratitude for the time and effort dedicated by our volunteers, nominations are now open for the Municipality of Brockton's Volunteer Recognition Awards: the Brockton Good Neighbour Award and the new Outstanding Youth Award in partnership with the Walkerton and District Optimist Club! 

The Brockton Good Neighbour Award recognizes an individual (resident of Brockton) who has displayed activities that embody a strong sense of values, promoting the positive impact of good neighbourly deeds and contribute to the vitality and fabric of the community. The winner of the Brockton Good Neighbour Award will receive a certificate and Brockton Dollars.

The Outstanding Youth Award is recognizing outstanding Brockton youth (Grades 7-12) for their amazing contributions in our community, including:

  • Giving back to their community - by making positive contributions in volunteerism (exceeds minimum OSSD volunteer requirements)
  • Demonstrating selflessness – an act for the betterment of another (human or animal)
  • Promoting inclusivity and diversity within their community – has provided support to others to ensure belonging

The winner of the Outstanding Youth Award will receive a certificate and monetary donation from the Walkerton and District Optimist Club.

Online nomination forms submitted through the Municipal website will be emailed directly to our Deputy Clerk, Sarah Johnson, or you can contact our Deputy Clerk by email, or call 519-881-2223 Ext. 159 for assistance if you are unable to submit your nomination online. 

The Municipality will contact individuals who submit nomination forms to confirm receipt of the nomination, and update them on whether the nomination has been accepted by the Volunteer Recognition Award Committees. The Brockton Good Neighbour Award Nominations will be reviewed by the Municipality of Brockton, and the Outstanding Youth Award Nominations will be reviewed by the Walkerton and District Optimist Club.

A formal award ceremony will occur during the Municipality's Volunteer Recognition Event on Thursday, June 22, 2023 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Cargill Community Centre (999 Greenock-Brant Townline, Cargill N0G 1J0).
