COVID-19 Business Recovery and Support

Visit our COVID-19 Updates page for all municipal updates, including cancellations, Information Bulletins, and more.

Local Sources of PPE for Businesses

Looking to purchase your Personal Protective Equipment locally? We have you covered!

Download our PPE Supplier List to support local while keeping your employees and customers safe.

Bruce Power recently announced that it will be sharing its own PPE supply chain with local businesses to offer an economical way to purchase in bulk.  You can order directly from the Bruce Power "Strength in Numbers" portal.

Bruce County is also planning to support local businesses through a Business Safety Supplies grant, to be announced shortly. It will help local businesses with less than 25 employees cover the additional cost of PPE during COVID-19.

Brockton Business Recovery Toolkit

The Municipality of Brockton has published a Business Recovery Toolkit to help you find COVID-19 support programs and navigate government regulations.

Download the Business Recovery Toolkit here, or request a printed copy from the Municipality. We also have posters, and Brockton #InItTogether flags, floor decals and masks available.

The toolkit includes helpful links, information about COVID-19 grants and loan programs, and regulations and guidelines for Food Services, Retail, Manufacturing, Health Care, and more.

Bruce County Economic Task Force

Bruce County has launched an economic task force to deal with the coronavirus fallout and recovery, and surveyed businesses in all sectors to determine the impact of COVID-19 on our economy. The data was used by the task force to develop direct supports to help small businesses, as well as to advocate to other levels of government for the urgent needs of our business community.

Sidewalk Patio Application Program

The Municipality of Brockton recently adopted a Sidewalk Patio Application Program to allow businesses to adjust to the “new normal” and re-opening with continued physical distancing and other health protocols due to COVID-19. Many restaurant and pub establishments are in need of additional space for their operations. With the arrival of summer, sidewalk and on-street patios can provide businesses with expanded space to accommodate patrons safely, while also contributing to vibrant and active commercial districts and streets. The intention in reviewing sidewalk patio applications and requirements is to ensure that universal accessibility, public safety and streetscape experience is enhanced and not negatively impacted by the introduction of a patio. Visit our Sidewalk Patio Application webpage to learn more and apply!

Essential Businesses During the Coronavirus Outbreak

The provincial government has revised its list of essential workplaces able to operate during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Visit Essential Workplaces for further information, or call the Ontario government's business hotline at 1-888-444-3659.

Federal Government Support

The federal government's COVID-19 Economic Response Plan includes such measures as:

  • A 75 per cent wage subsidy for businesses whose revenue has declined due to COVID-19.

The Ontario government has launched a new portal aimed at connecting workers with positions in the province’s agri-food sector. The Agriculture and Food Jobs website includes job listings, support services and industry resources.
