Whether in town or on the farm, you are a steward.

Being a steward simply means taking care of something. Whether or not we own land, we are all stewards of the earth.

As Ontarians we place huge demands on the Province’s biological resources, with consequences not only for biodiversity but also for environmental health, quality of life and economic prosperity.

Most of the land in southern Ontario is in private ownership and stewardship is the most effective way we have to protect the future health of our communities and long-term sustainable use of our lands and waters.

In this section you’ll find suggestions to help you be the best steward of the land you live, work and play on.
