Walkerton Business Improvement Area (BIA) is actively involved in numerous community and business initiatives, such as the annual Christmas Shopping Promotion and Santa Claus Parade and other retail and service promotions. The BIA hosts educational and informative business luncheons and participates on many committees that serve to enhance the community's quality of life.

Bruce Community Futures Development Corporation (Bruce CFDC) - serves both Bruce and Grey County, including a geographic portion of the municipality of Brockton. Affiliated through Industry Canada's Community Futures Program, this corporation embraces initiatives and activities in support of economic diversification and community prosperity.

Bruce CFDC aims to assist smalls businesses grow and develop by providing:

  • Assistance to entrepreneurs
  • Business financing
  • Business improvement workshops and seminars
  • Small business self-help resources
  • Online learning opportunities for small business owners

Four County Labour Market Planning Board plans and promotes local labour market strategies to meet the challenges of a changing economy. The Board works collaboratively with business, workforce and community organizations to plan and initiate projects and programs that address the specific needs of workforce development in Bruce, Grey, Huron and Perth counties.
