Brockton Canada Day 150 Celebrations

This coming Canada Day July 1st, 2017, will celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Confederation of Canada.

Brockton Celebrations - Cargill

The Canada 150 - Come Celebrate event will be held on July 1, 2017 at the Cargill Community Park. The Canadian themed day will have activities for every age, ability and socioeconomic status to make for a fun filled event celebrating a big milestone in our country's history. Cargill will be hosting a skit "Guess Who's Coming to Brockton" with the County Towne Players & Friends, as well as a Kick-Off Dance on June 30, 2017. On July 1 there will be Opening Ceremonies, food booths, activities, historical displays, Canadian themed entertainment, a roast beef dinner, the County Towne Players skit, a campfire, and fireworks over the pond.

Brockton Celebrations - Elmwood 

Elmwood is planning a day of events and activities on Saturday, June 10, 2017. The list includes a Children's Arts Competition featuring Canadian themes, Children's Bingo, Family Fun Baseball, an Old-Time Jamboree, a Bluewater Fastball League game, a Canadian Trivia theme dance, a Geo-Cache Historical site rally, an Historical Presentation on the History of Elmwood, an Historical All-Canadian Costume Competition, a Community Home and Business Improvement Competition, and more.

Brockton Celebrations - Walkerton

Walkerton will host Canada Day celebrations at Centennial Park on July 1, 2017 in partnership with the Rotary Club.

Bruce Remembers - June 3:

Bruce County is honouring all the men and women who have served Canada over the generations. There will be a Military "Reunion" Style Luncheon at 11:00 a.m. at the Chesley Community Centre. The price is $44.25 per person plus HST. The luncheon features guest speaker Allan Bartley, author of Heroes in Waiting: the 160th Bruce Battalion in the Great War. Bruce County 150 Doors Open - June 10 and 11:

Bruce County are hosting a Doors Open Event for the 150th anniversary on June 10, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and on June 11, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.. For more information, and a list of locations, visit the Doors Open Ontario Bruce County website.

Canadian Forces Snowbirds Airshow - June 21:

The Saugeen Municipal Airport is hosting an airshow on Wednesday, June 21 featuring the Canadian Forces Snowbirds. Opening ceremonies begin at 4:30 p.m. and the Canadian Forces Snowbirds fly at 6:30 p.m. For more information visit the Saugeen Municipal Airport's website.

Classic Car Tour - July 15:

The Rotary Club are hosting a Classic Car Tour on Saturday, July 15 from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. The public are invited to tour seven of the area's finest collections of classic cars, motorcycles, tractors, and memorabilia. There will also be a smoked pork chop dinner at the Walkerton Community Centre from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tour and Dinner tickets are $20.00 each. Car Show - July 29:

The Walkerton Agricultural Society are hosting Walkerton's Annual Classic Car and Truck Show on Saturday, July 29 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Walkerton Fair Grounds, 210 Durham Street West. The show will feature antiques, classics, hot rods, muscle cars, trucks and bikes. Food, refreshments, and door prizes are also available.There is no admission charge for this event.

Walkerton Little Royal Fair - October 13, 14 and 15:

The Walkerton Little Royal Fair's 2017 theme is "O Canada: We Have It All". The Little Royal Fair will run from October 13 to 15, 2017. For more information visit the Walkerton Agricultural Society's website.
