"Caring for Kids"

Purpose:

- To provide an environment where each child may have the opportunity to experience social, emotional, physical and intellectual growth
- To understand and guide the child's behavior
- To broaden the child's experiences through planned learning which suits the needs of the child
- To encourage participation in a wide range of activities, both as an individual and as part of a group
- To support all areas of development through play
- To help children reach their highest potential

Programs Available:

- toddlers from 18 months to 2 1/2 years
- preschoolers from 2 1/2 years to 4 years
- programs for childrem of junior and senior kindergarten age including before and after school care
- school age program from 4 years to 11 years
- front door bus pick up for school age children. Staff also walk students to and from the Walkerton Public School
- the Walkerton Day Care Centre is a fully integrated day care with services for children with special needs. Resource Teachers and Speech Pathologists visit the centre regularly to work with children and give support to our staff

Activities:

- educational crafts
- circle activities
- free play
- walks
- trips to surrounding points of interest

Nutrition:

- nutritious snacks
- lunches prepared at the centre
- a variety of healthy and enjoyable foods
- lunches/snacks follow Canada's Food Guide

The preschool years are crucial to the healthy growth and development of your child. All experiences a child has, both in and out of the home, influences a child's growth and development.

The Walkerton Day Care is licensed by and regularly inspected by the Ministry of Community and Social Services. All teaching staff are qualified Early Childhood Educators certified in First Aid.

Payment of Fees:

Toddler Program Fee:
Half day $19.00
Full day $32.00
Preschool & Senior Program Fee:
Half day $18.00
Full day $30.00
School Age (Grade 1 and up) Fee:
Half day $16.00
Full day $24.00
Before and after school $5/hour

Registration Fee: $10.00

Note:

Toddler rate is charged when a child is 18 months - 2 1/2 years and not trained  
Preschool rate is charged when a child is 2 1/2 years - 4 years and is trained  
Senior rate is charged when a child is 4 years - 6 years and is trained  
School Age rate is charged when a child is in Grade 1 and up  
If your child is between 2 1/2 years - 6 years old but is not trained, then the toddler rate will be charged  

**Income Tax receipts are provided**
