Clerks 100 Scott Street, Box 68, Walkerton Ontario NOG 2VO The Municipal Clerk is a statutory officer of the Corporation and is assigned various duties by a number of Provincial statutes such as the Municipal Act, the Planning Act, the Municipal Elections Act and the Vital Statistics Act. The Clerk's Office provides administrative support services to the Municipal Council and municipal departments. The Clerk's Office prepares Council agendas, minutes, by-laws, agreements and resolutions. This department also provides legal coordination of municipal activities with the municipal solicitor. Other duties that fall under the Clerk's Office are; requests for information under the Freedom of Information Act, issuances of marriage licences, birth and death registrations, issuance of lottery licences and performing the duties of Returning Officer for municipal elections.
