The Town of Walkerton, Township of Brant and the Township of Greenock amalgamated January 1st, 1999 to become the Municipality of Brockton.

"Brockton" was chosen as the name of the new municipality using a combination of Brant, Greenock & Walkerton.

With a population approaching 10,000 Brockton provides a wealth of opportunities for business, arts and recreational pursuits. From rich agricultural lands to commercial and industrial outlets, from the Saugeen Municipal Airport to the largest natural wetland in Southern Ontario, the Greenock Swamp - there really is something for everyone in The Municipality of Brockton!
